The Namur Research Pole in Infectiology (NaRePI) has the great pleasure to invite you to a conference organised in the honor of Prof. Guy Cornelis who is retiring from the UNamur. It is an opportunity to celebrate his outstanding research contributions in the field of molecular bacteriology.

In July 2012, Guy Cornelis moved from the University of Basel to the University of Namur. Thanks to an ERC Advanced Grant and subsequent other grants, he established, within the Research Unit in Biology of Microorganisms (URBM), a research team dedicated to the study of the pathogenesis of Capnocytophaga canimorsus, a Gram-negative bacterium commonly found in dogs' mouths and responsible for fatal septicemia or meningitis in humans after dog bites or licks.
