Let’s talk about Services...

A workshop entirely dedicated to services has been held on the 23rd of November at the university of Namur. This workshop is a first initiative in Belgium that aims to connect all partners concerned with services for a whole day. The workshop was organized by the Cercle -research center.

This workshop is a joint initiative between the universities of UNamur (Professor Wafa Hammedi), UAntwerp (Professor Annouk Lievens) and UGent (Professor Bart de Larivière).

A focused doctoral workshop took place in the morning were Ph.D students in services presented their projects.

Whereas in the afternoon, we were honoured to welcome prestigious keynote speakers: Professor Jay Kandampully, ( Ohio State University-USA) who is one of the international recognized experts in the services management field. Professor Kanampully gave a talk entitled  “ T -shaped research competency”. The second keynote speaker is Professor Matthias Gouthier, from the European Business School-Frankfurt Germany and also the new president of the European project committee “ Service Excellence standards”.

Finally, an important speaker from business environment, Dr. Hans Van Mingroot (IBM company) who talked more specifically about the challenge of Service delivery for service companies. 

The next edition of this workshop will take place at the University of Antwerp.
