Radiobiology Seminar

The Department of Physics, the Department of Biology and NARILIS have the great pleasure to invite you to a seminar entitled "Simulating Space Radiation-Induced Breast Tumor Incidence Using Automata"

Catégorie : conférence/cours/séminaire (spécialisé)
Date : 07/12/2015 12:45 - 07/12/2015 14:00
Lieu : UNamur, B07 auditorium (61 rue de Bruxelles Namur, rez-de-chaussée)
Orateur(s) : Anne-Catherine Heuskin
Organisateur(s) : NARILIS

This seminar is organized in the context of the in vitro radiobiology studies undertaken at the UNamur by the teams of Prof. Stéphane Lucas (Department of Physics, Laboratory of Analysis by Nuclear Reaction, LARN) and Prof. Carine Michiels (Department of Biology, Laboratory of Cellular Biochemistry and Biology, URBC). A broad beam in vitro irradiation station was developed in 2008 at the LARN. This technological facility is being used to investigate cellular response to irradiation with proton, alpha or carbon broad beams and allows to perform radiobiological experiments in the field of cancer radiotherapy, space radiobiology or radioprotection. It is one of the fundamental setup used to evaluate and understand new treatment modalities for protontherapy.
